The South Australian Labor State Government Plans to Cut an estimated $170 million from Public School Budgets in the next three years to create an Efficiency Dividend. This will translate into less resources in the classroom, including support staff, computing resources, library resources, sport programmes and other valuable programmes. They should be spending more not less. Call, Email, Write, Protest, in any way you feel comfortable.

No Cuts to
Public
Schools in
Welcome and What Is This All About
I am a parent, with a six year old and an eight year old who attend a Western Suburbs Public Primary School here in Adelaide. I run the Book Club and am on the Governing Council.
I am angry that already under resourced Public Schools are going to have millions taken out of their operating budgets by the Labor State Government. These cuts will translate into an immediate reduction in resources available to children and reductions in school service officer hours and related programmes they support. Our school was facing a cut of around $30,000, prior to the Government backdown on work cover. This will be reduced, but the plan is still to find "efficiencies" (cuts) Other schools will face substantially more. These cuts are a huge challenge for a small school.
This is my attempt to do something. Principals and Teachers are being gagged, so the input by parents and concerned residents of South Australia is extremely important. If you have children attending Public Schools in South Australia, you will be affected too.
Can you please do whatever you feel comfortable doing. Individually it may not seem like much. Together we can have an impact.
